Experiencing performance issues while using the Arc browser can be caused by a number of factors. Often, this issue arises due to corrupted application data, including cache, settings, and cookies. This data is necessary for Arc to function properly.

In most cases, Arc does not work correctly when the application data is corrupted. However, other factors such as interference from extensions, corrupted application files, and running many third-party applications can also cause this issue.

Before we discuss the solutions, try restarting your computer and avoid opening too many new tabs. Restarting the computer can fix performance issues with the Arc browser, as it reloads data from memory and restarts services to clear out bugs and glitches that might be causing the problem.

1. Disable Unnecessary Extensions

If you have too many extensions enabled in your Arc browser, the first thing you should do is remove the unnecessary ones and keep only those that you are most likely to use in the future.

Too many extensions can consume a significant amount of memory, leading to performance issues with Arc. Therefore, either remove unnecessary extensions or disable all extensions to see if the problem is resolved.

  1. Click the Arc Logo icon from the top bar and hover over Extensions.
  2. Now click Manage Extensions. Here, you can either disable unnecessary extensions or remove them.
  3. Once done, see if the issue has been resolved.

2. Reset or Repair Arc

Resetting the Arc browser will remove app data such as user settings, authentication cookies, and frequently accessed data also known as cache data. However, repairing the Arc browser will fix any corrupted files that may cause this issue.

There are times when the application data becomes corrupted, leading to various issues, especially with Arc. Therefore, you should try repairing or resetting the Arc browser to resolve this problem.

  1. Press Win and type Arc.
  2. Right-click on it and select App Settings.
  3. Here, scroll down to the bottom.
  4. First, click the Repair option and wait for it to be completed.
  5. Once done, if the issue persists, try resetting the Arc app.

3. Close Unnecessary Background Applications

Slow performance often occurs when many applications are running simultaneously in the background, using a significant amount of RAM (memory), which results in performance loss. Ensure that unnecessary background applications are not running while browsing on the Arc browser.

4. Update the Arc Browser

Outdated applications can lead to performance issues. Ensure you are running the latest version of the Arc browser.

  1. Open the Arc App, click the Arc icon from the top, and select Check for updates.
  2. If updates are found, click Install & Restart.
  3. Once done, check if the problem is resolved.

Finally, if none of the solutions have resolved the issue, consider reinstalling the Arc browser. This can help if there are corrupted application files causing the problem. Additionally, you can contact the official support team of Arc Browser for further assistance regarding this issue.

Infinite loading issues are common, especially in newly launched applications. When it comes to browsers, several factors can cause these issues, such as interference from extensions, corrupted cache and app data, or problems with application files. Although these are the main contributors, other factors, like server-side issues or a weak internet connection, can also contribute.

Browser Infinite Loading

Recently, many users have reported issues with the Arc browser. Most of these issues are due to problems with the application data, which includes cache data, settings, authentication cookies, and more. By clearing the app data, you can fix this issue.

1. Reset or Repair the Arc Browser

  1. Open the Arc browser on your PC. You may need to sign in if you have reset it.
  2. Click on the Arc logo at the top, hover over Extensions, and click Manage Extensions. Here, you will see all the extensions installed on your browser. Simply click Remove to uninstall the extension.Managing Arc Browser Extensions

Flashing issues in the Arc browser often occur while watching YouTube videos or performing other tasks on the browser. When this happens, a random Arc window pops up for a second and disappears before you can figure out what’s going on.

This type of issue is not easy to troubleshoot, as it does not give us any information to figure out the root cause. However, according to reports from affected users, this issue could be caused by unnecessary extensions. While it could be the leading cause, it might not be the only one, as other factors, such as corrupted app or cache data, can contribute to triggering this issue.

1. Remove Extensions

One of the best solutions is to remove the extensions and then add them one by one until you find the one causing the issue. Using this approach, you will be able to determine which extension is causing the problem.

  1. Click the Arc icon at the top left of the browser.
  2. Hover over Extensions from the list of options and click Manage Extensions. Here, you will see all the extensions installed in your browser. Click Remove one by one to remove all the extensions.
  3. Once done, check if the issue is resolved. If it is, then install the extensions one by one until you encounter the issue again.

2. Create a New Space

Just like in Chrome, we create different profiles to keep our bookmarks, cookies, and history separate from other users. In Arc Browser, we can create a new space to keep our data separate. Creating a new space can fix a flashing issue. You can try this before proceeding to any other method.

  1. Open the Arc Browser, click the Plus icon at the bottom left, and click New Space.
  2. Give a name to your space and click the Default icon.
  3. Now select the New Profile and give a name to your profile.
  4. Once done, click Create Profile.
  5. Now verify if the same issue persists or is fixed.

3. Reset or Repair the Arc Browser

Resetting the Arc browser will remove application data, such as authentication cookies and cache data. Sometimes, the application data becomes corrupted, causing the application to behave unexpectedly. That is where the resetting and repairing application options come into play.

Repairing the application does not necessarily delete application data, but it will attempt to fix the application files that might be causing the issue.

  1. Click the Start Menu and type Arc.
  2. Right-click the Arc app and select App Settings.
  3. Scroll down to the bottom and click the Repair option. If the problem persists, try resetting the Arc app.
  4. Once done, the issue should be gone.

If the problem is not resolved, you should reinstall the Arc browser, as there might be some corrupted files in the application directory causing the issue. If this also fails, reach out to the support team of Arc Browser to get further assistance with this issue.

Google’s AI overview, also known as SGE (Search Generative Experience), has been frustrating users since its launch due to the inaccuracy of the answers to users’ queries. In a recent instance, a user searched for a solution to get rid of kidney stones, but surprisingly, Google AI advised him to drink a couple of gallons of his own urine.

This isn’t the only case; in another instance, a user claimed that Google AI advised him to use glue in response to a query about cheese not sticking to pizza.

If you have enabled Google’s AI overviews, unfortunately, you cannot disable it directly, even if you don’t like it. However, there are some indirect ways to turn off AI overviews and go straight to the search results. This article will discuss ways to avoid Google’s AI overviews.

So if it Cannot Be Disabled, How to Avoid it or Hide it?

To avoid Google’s AI overview, you can either send your search query directly to the web search or use an extension to remove Google’s AI overviews.

Using the extension will remove the HTML by making changes in the CSS, such as finding the Google AI overview block and changing its display to none, which will make the Google AI overviews disappear from the Google search result page. This method will work as long as Google does not change any code on the search results page.

However, since Google’s search results page changes periodically, any small change by Google will break the functionality of the extensions, stopping them from working. If the developers stay up-to-date with these changes, it will be easier to avoid Google’s AI overviews without making any changes to the browser. Additionally, we have provided long-term reliable methods, so you don’t need to worry if the extension method stops working.

1. Use Extension to Block AI Overviews

The automatic way to remove AI overviews is to use an extension that adds CSS code to the HTML block of the AI overview using JavaScript to make it disappear. Many online extensions allow users to disable AI overviews. You can use any of these extensions. We recommend you use Hide Google AI Overview or Bye Bye, Google AI to remove AI overviews.

  1. Click the three dots at the top right and hover over Extensions.
  2. Click Chrome Web Store and search for Bye Bye, Google AI. Now, add it to your browser.
  3. Once done, you should not see any Google AI overviews when searching on Google.
  4. Additionally, if you hit W + Spacebar after enabling the Bye Bye, Google AI extension and then enter your query, it will send it straight to the web tab, which does not include AI overviews.

2. Search from Chrome’s Address Bar

If the extension is not working, you can use a reliable long-term method by searching the query from the web address bar. If you search most of your queries from the web address bar, you will need to make a simple change to avoid AI overviews. This change will direct you straight to the web tab on Google, which does not include AI overviews.

  1. Click the Three Dots at the top and select Settings.
  2. Go to Search Engine from the left sidebar. Here, click Manage Search Engines and Site Search.
  3. Under Site Search, click Add.
  4. Fill out the following data in the fields described below.
    Name: Google Web

    Shortcut: Google.com

    String URL: {google:baseURL}/search?udm=14&q=%s

  5. Once done, click Add. Then, click the three dots associated with the site search that you just created, then select Make it default.
  6. Once done, search for anything in the web address bar to see if the Google AI overviews pop up.

How to Turn Off Google’s AI Overviews on Android/iOS?

You cannot add extensions to a mobile device like you can with Google Chrome or any other browser on a PC. You cannot even add a custom search engine to popular browsers like Google Chrome for Android or Safari for iOS. However, the Firefox browser on Android and iOS allows us to add a custom search engine that we can use to send our queries straight to the web tab.

  1. Install Firefox from the PlayStore or AppStore.
  2. Click the three dots and select Settings.
  3. Tap Search under General Settings, then tap Default Search Engine.
  4. Tap Add Search Engine here, and fill out the data in the fields mentioned below.
    Name: Google Web

    String URL: google.com/search?udm=14&q=%s

  5. Once done, click Save and then select the search engine that you just created.
  6. Now, when you search on the web address bar, it will send you directly to the Google web address.

When users attempt to access their Dropbox accounts and run into Error 500, this usually indicates there’s a problem on Dropbox’s servers processing the request. This error is often encountered when users attempt operations like signing in or registering.

Error 500 can have several causes, including server overloads, disruption due to maintenance, wrong login details, or even a damaged browser and application cache. A weak internet connection could also bring about this error, so it’s recommended to check your network connection as an initial step.

Dropbox usually responds swiftly to these issues, often alerting users about ongoing server status and maintenance updates through their official status page and community forums.

1. Check Dropbox Server Status

We always recommend starting your troubleshooting by confirming the server status. This step is important because, if the server is down or in the middle of maintenance, any attempts to fix the issue would be useless. Thus, please ensure you check the server status at status.dropbox.com. Only continue with the following methods if it is running.

Also, it’s essential to ensure that the login details you are using are not incorrect. If they are wrong, you’re likely to encounter this issue. So, before proceeding with the other methods, ensure there are no typos in your password.

2. Clean up Website and Application Cache

There might be a cache issue with your browser or application, resulting in this error message. A cache is data that the application or browser saves when you log in, register, or visit the application or website for the first time.

Cache data includes images, webpage content, user data, and cookies. As the error occurs mostly when trying to log in, the problem may be with the cookies.

Cookies are basically a key that gives you access to your account and data associated with it. The program or website generates it when you register or log in. Therefore, in this method, you will be erasing the cache data along with the cookies.

2.1 Browsers

  1. The next steps might vary, depending on your browser.
  2. Click the three dots and select Settings from the list of options.
  3. Once you are in the settings, look for the Privacy & Security option and go to Site Settings.
  4. Click View permissions and data stored across sites.
  5. Now, you can look for dropbox.com in the list of websites.
  6. Click the Delete icon and then click Delete to confirm.
  7. After that, try logging in to the website again.

2.2 Windows

  1. Press the Win + R keys together to open the Run utility.
  2. Now, type %localappdata% and hit Enter to go to the folder.
  3. Find and erase the Dropbox folder.
  4. When done, relaunch the Dropbox application and check if the error continues.

3. Try a Different Browser

We highly suggest logging in to a different browser. This will help you determine if the error is associated with the server or not. There are many browsers available, and to select a reliable one, refer to our list of The 7 Best Web Browsers For Every Kind of User.

If the issue remains, you might want to reinstall Dropbox as your last option. If the problem still continues after reinstalling Dropbox, we suggest letting Dropbox know about the issue by reaching out to them on their official website.

The message “Your browser is a bit unusual” is frequently prompted when adblockers or anti-virus software stop GoDaddy from opening in the browser. While this is a primary cause, it isn’t the only one.

Even without active adblocker, antivirus software, or VPN on your computer, this problem might still come up. This means that the issue could originate from GoDaddy’s side. But before reaching out to GoDaddy, it is important to check that everything on our end is working properly.

Now that we are aware of the causes, we can discuss the solutions that have helped users resolve this issue.

1. Clear Cache and Cookie Data

Sometimes, websites may not behave as expected. This often occurs due to a corrupt cache stored in the browser. When you visit a website for the first time, it stores data such as images, user data, cookies, etc., in the cache.

This allows the website to display data without needing to make requests from the server, improving load time and user experience significantly.

The cache data getting corrupted is a common issue. Therefore, we will start by clearing the cache data from the browser to potentially fix this error.

  1. Click the three dots in the corner and select Settings.
  2. Select Privacy & Security from the left side menu and click Site Settings.
  3. Click on View Permissions and data stored across sites.
  4. Search for godaddy.com in the listed websites.
  5. Click on the Delete icon and then hit Delete to confirm.
  6. Finally, visit GoDaddy and log into your account to check if the error is still there.

2. Turn off the Anti-virus Program

As mentioned earlier, anti-virus programs interfering can also be a major cause of this problem. Many times, anti-virus software will alert you that a website you’re attempting to visit isn’t safe, making it possible for malware to infect your system. To check if this is the issue, turn off your antivirus software temporarily.

  1. Open the system or notification area from the bottom right corner.
  2. Right-click on the anti-virus software and hover over Manage, Control, or a similar option.
  3. Select either Disable for 10 minutes or Disable Permanently.
  4. After that, go to the GoDaddy website and check if the error is still present.

3. Disable and Remove Extensions

If you have any adblocker extensions running, they could also be the main reason for this problem. Moreover, disabling any other unnecessary extensions in your browser could help.

  1. Click on the three dots, hover over Extensions, and select Manage Extensions.
  2. You will see all the extensions installed in your browser here. Begin by disabling or removing the ad blocker and then any other extensions you don’t need.
  3. After completing this step, confirm if the error has been fixed.

4. Disable VPNs

Much like anti-viruses, VPNs often have web protection and file protection options that protect your device from malware. If you have a VPN with these features, that could be the reason for this issue.

Moreover, VPNs can slow down internet speeds and certain websites don’t allow users to use VPNs. So, if you use a VPN, it’s recommended to disable it.

5. Enable Javascript Permission on GoDaddy

Javascript is essential for websites as it lets them display features like video games, dialogs, or web forms. So, if it’s not enabled in your browser, that could be the reason you’re facing this issue.

  1. In your browser, click the three dots and select Settings.
  2. Select Privacy & Security and click Site Settings.
  3. Scroll down to the Content section and select Javascript.
  4. Make sure that the option Sites can use Javascript is enabled.
  5. Once done, check if the problem is still present.

6. Try a Different Web Browser

If you’ve followed all the above steps but are still experiencing the same issue, consider trying GoDaddy on a different browser. This will help you determine if the problem is with your browser. There are many alternatives to use for GoDaddy. Please refer to this article to select the best one.

If the problem isn’t resolved even after switching to a different browser, you might want to reach out to GoDaddy support for help.

Cache build-up can interfere with browser performance. Clearing the cache may solve the problem by removing unnecessary files.

  1. Press Windows + R, enter
    appdata

    and press Enter.

  2. Navigate to the ‘Local’ folder and then proceed to ‘Opera Software’.
  3. Delete the contents of the ‘Opera Software’ folder.
  4. Perform the same deletion process in the ‘Roaming’ folder.

2. Disable Antivirus

Antivirus software like Webroot can sometimes conflict with Opera GX. We suggest temporarily turning off or uninstalling any antivirus software that could be causing the problem.

For instructions on deactivating your antivirus, refer to our article here.

If you need to completely remove a third-party antivirus program, please see our guide here.

3. Reinstall Opera GX

Reinstalling Opera GX can fix corrupted files or restore deleted ones without losing your browsing data.

  1. Download Opera GX from the official website here.
  2. Run the installer and select Accept and Upgrade.
  3. Complete the installation by following the on-screen instructions.

Following these steps should result in a successful upgrade or reinstallation of the browser.

4. Reset Opera GX Settings to Default

If the browser is still malfunctioning, resetting Opera GX settings to their default may help.

  1. Open Opera GX and enter the following in the address bar:
    opera://settings/reset

  2. Click on ‘Reset settings to their original defaults’.
  3. Confirm by clicking the Reset button.

5. Disable Extensions

Extensions, especially those that are outdated or buggy, could be causing issues. Disabling all extensions could resolve the problem.

  1. Open Opera GX and navigate to the Extensions Manager by clicking the extension icon on the left sidebar.
  2. Turn off all extensions and restart the browser to see if the problem has been resolved.

6. Create a New User Profile

If the earlier solutions don’t work, consider creating a new user profile in Opera GX as the issue might stem from the current profile.

  1. Access the Opera GX settings by clicking the gear icon.
  2. Select Manage GX Profiles.
  3. Choose Create Profile and follow the prompts.

When Firefox uses excessive memory, users often experience slowdowns, crashes, or system freezing. High memory usage frequently occurs during memory-intensive activities, such as streaming or visiting content-heavy sites. For example, Yahoo Mail has been identified as a particular offender for memory spikes due to its extensive features and media content.

A common cause of high memory usage is the accumulation of processes, resulting from features such as Firefox’s Project Fission. Project Fission, designed to enhance security and performance through site isolation, can lead to increased memory use. Other contributing factors include extensions, hardware acceleration, and certain websites that demand more memory.

1. Update Browser:

Updating your browser can mitigate memory leaks by fixing bugs from previous versions. Newer versions often include optimizations that improve memory usage and enhance security, helping to prevent malware—one of the contributors to memory leaks.

The ERR_PROXY_CONNECTION_FAILED error commonly occurs when your browser is unable to establish a connection through a proxy server you’ve configured or that has been configured by your network. This error is most often caused by incorrect proxy settings, which might include an incorrect address or port for the proxy server.

Other causes for this issue include network connectivity problems, a corrupted browser cache or cookies, or interference from firewall or security software. It’s crucial for users to ensure their internet connection is stable and that the proxy settings are correctly configured.

Users should also consider clearing their browser cache and cookies, disabling any interfering firewall or security software temporarily, and checking for any incorrect proxy settings as initial steps towards resolving this error.

In this guide, we will show you several methods you can use to resolve the ERR_PROXY_CONNECTION_FAILED error code with relative ease.

1. Disable Automatic Proxy Detection

The first thing you should do is disable the automatic detection of proxy settings in Windows. This prevents unintended changes to the proxy settings on your PC in case you have configured any.

  1. Open the Settings app by pressing the Win key + I.
  2. Navigate to the Network and Internet > Proxy menu.

    Navigating to Proxy Settings
    Navigating to Proxy Settings
  3. Turn off the Automatically detect settings option using the toggle.

    Disabling Automatic Proxy Detection

  4. Check to see if this resolves the issue.

2. Reset DNS Cache

An inconsistency in the DNS cache can also cause your computer’s proxy server to stop working, usually when your PC can’t reach the proxy server because the DNS server is unable to resolve the request.

Resetting the DNS cache may help to isolate the issue.

  1. Open the Start Menu and search for Command Prompt. Click Run as administrator.

    Opening Command Prompt as Admin
    Opening Command Prompt as Admin
  2. In the command prompt window, type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.

  3. Check to see if the error code persists.

3. Disable Third-Party Extensions

Third-party extensions added to your web browser can trigger the ERR_PROXY_CONNECTION_FAILED error code, especially when using a VPN-like extension.

These services change your browser’s proxy settings to enable their use. To solve this problem, try disabling the third-party extension.

You can verify if the problem persists without third-party extensions by opening an incognito or private window in your browser, as extensions are usually disabled in this mode. If the problem is resolved, find the problematic extension with these steps:

  1. Click the More menu in the top-right corner of your browser.
  2. Select Settings from the dropdown menu.

    Opening Chrome Settings
    Opening Chrome Settings
  3. Use the search bar to search for proxy.

  4. If an extension has modified the proxy settings, you’ll receive a message.
  5. Click Disable or remove the third-party extension by selecting Manage.
  6. Afterwards, confirm if the issue has been resolved.

4. Reset TCP/IP Stack

The Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and Internet Protocol (IP) are essential for communicating with other devices on the internet. A damaged TCP/IP stack in Windows could lead to the ERR_PROXY_CONNECTION_FAILED error code.

Resetting the TCP/IP stack may correct this issue.

  1. Search for Command Prompt in the Start Menu.
  2. Select Run as administrator.

    Opening Command Prompt as Admin
    Opening Command Prompt as Admin
  3. Type the following commands one at a time in the command prompt window:
netsh winsock reset netsh int tcp reset

    Resetting TCP/IP
  4. Restart your computer thereafter.
  5. See if the error code persists.

5. Remove Proxy Settings

If you encounter the ERR_PROXY_CONNECTION_FAILED error without intentionally adding a proxy server to your PC, it’s possible that a third-party app has injected proxy settings. Alternatively, if the proxy server you use is experiencing an outage, removing the proxy settings may resolve the issue.

Below are two methods for removing a proxy server from your PC. Be aware that not all proxy settings may be reflected in the Settings app, requiring you to use the Windows Registry.

5.1. Using the Settings App

  1. Press the Windows key + I to open the Settings app.
  2. Go to Network and Internet > Proxy.

    Navigating to Proxy Settings
    Navigating to Proxy Settings
  3. Click Edit next to the Use setup script.

  4. Turn off the script using the toggle.
  5. Click Edit next to Use a proxy server.

    Editing Manual Proxy Settings
    Editing Manual Proxy Settings
  6. Toggle it off as well.
  7. If the Set up option is displayed instead, it indicates no proxy server has been configured via the Settings app.

5.2. Using the Windows Registry

  1. Press Win key + R to open the Run box.
  2. Type regedit and press Enter to launch the Registry Editor.

    Opening Registry Editor
    Opening Registry Editor
  3. Navigate to the following path in the Registry:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings

    Navigating to Internet Settings Path
    Navigating to Internet Settings Path
  4. Double-click on the ProxySettingsPerUser key in the right pane. Change its value to 1.

    ProxySettingsPerUser Registry Key
    ProxySettingsPerUser Registry Key
  5. If the key is not present, create a new DWORD (32-bit) Value named ProxySettingsPerUser, and set its value to 1.

6. Reset Browser Settings

If none of the above methods fix the error code, consider resetting your browser. At this point, a browser configuration inconsistency is likely causing the issue, and a reset should address this.

  1. Open the More menu in the top right corner and go to Settings.

    Opening Chrome Settings
    Opening Chrome Settings
  2. In the search bar, type Reset Settings.

    Resetting Chrome Settings
    Resetting Chrome Settings
  3. Click on the option that appears to reset your browser settings.
  4. After this, the problem should no longer occur.
